Rest in Him! As He is At Rest in You

Mark 4:35-40
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.  But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

There are times in life, even for the most stable Christian, that the circumstances around us feel as if a mighty storm is threatening to destroy our lives. Just like the Disciples it seems as though The Lord is comfortably sleeping in our spirit, while we battle the wind and waves.

I believe with all my heart that The Lord gave us this story, not only to show us He was Lord of all Creation, but to demonstrate to us, what He expects us to do during these times of trouble.

He isn't resting comfortably because He does not care what you are facing, although the enemy would love for you to believe that. He is resting comfortably because He knows what He has declared over your life. He knows that He will not lose you from His hand.

Some of us know what it is like to have everything on the outside calm and at peace, but inside, we have a Major Storm going on. Whether it is a broken place in the soul, that is yet to be healed, turmoil in the mind, or a physical condition that causes distress in the belly of our being, The Lord has taken up a place of rest IN YOU, and He will give you that rest!

However you must stand up in faith, against feelings, against what you see, and declare His Word! Command your heart to be at peace and your soul to be calm. You must CHOOSE to look beyond the waves and the wind.

Like John, lean back on The Lords chest and take comfort in His presence in you.

I know you see them, I know you hear them. I know they can be frightening, disheartening and troublesome! But!!! The greater one lives in you! If He is at peace in you, you can be at peace as well.

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the Word of God!! Look to His word and hold tightly to His promises.

If you are new to the Christian Walk of Faith, He is so good to help you along and rebuke the wind and sea for you, time and time again. If you have been walking with Him a while, He expects you to trust Him and take up a place of rest, even if the storm continues to rage.

You will make it. He has an expected end for you!

IT IS GOOD!!!

Jeremiah 29:11
New King James Version (NKJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
