Ephesians 2
There was so much here, I had to put up the whole chapter!

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcised by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Today lets just use The Word alone to combat the enemies lies about God! Meditate on these deeply and then go back and read yesterdays daily devotional. God IS  GOOD!

  • 1 And YOU He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins
  • 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved YOU,
  • 6 and raised YOU up together, and made YOU sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
  • 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward YOU in Christ Jesus.
  • 10 For YOU are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
  • 14 For He Himself is YOUR peace,
  • 18 For through Him YOU both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
  • 19 Now, therefore, YOU are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,
  • You are a dwelling place for The Spirit of God!!!

The Lord is With You......

I felt led to just exhort you today. The Lord wants you to know that He has been with you, is with you and will forever be with you.

In The Word we see that The Lord encourages His people that He has been, is, and will be, ever active in their lives. The Word says of Abraham that He has prospered him, continued to prosper him until he became exceedingly prosperous.

The word tells us that Jesus has delivered us, is delivering us, and will yet deliver us again. God chose us before the foundations of the world, Jesus saved us, and The Holy Spirit sealed us and remains with us, until the day of the purchased possession, which is YOU.

Jesus was, is, and forever will be King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Bible declares that In the beginning was The WORD,  The WORD was with God , The WORD was God.....The WORD became flesh and dwelt among us as Jesus. Jesus said behold I am with you forevermore!

Everything, including YOU, was made BY Him, FOR Him, and THROUGH  Him!

God has declared the end from the beginning in your life!! He has purposed a plan for your life. When you seek Him and walk in it. He will bring it to pass!!!

Fear not, Worry not, Fret not!! He cares for you greatly. Trust Him. He is Faithful!!

A Type and Shadow of Speaking In Tongues??

Notice, in the verses below, that although Hannah was not speaking she was pouring her soul out to God, from a deep place in her heart. So deep that she could not express it with words, only the utterance of her soul could express it.

Very much like the rivers of living water that flow from our Spirit man  from the deep. We pray in The Spirit out to God, uttering words that we do not know, crying out to The Lord!

Oh I believe with all my heart, that Hannah, if she was filled with The Holy Spirit would have been praying  in tongues fervently, crying out to The Lord. I am convinced that this account is SHADOW AND A TYPE of deep,fervent prayer in The SPIRIT.

The kind of prayer that availeth much and changes the course of lives,cities and nations!!

I also want you to notice, in the verses from the NT, that The sign of the infilling Spirit with evidence of Speaking in other tongues was tied to, and was part of the same prophetic utterance, of The Last Days and judgement upon the earth.

1 Samuel 1:12-17
Amplified Bible (AMP)

And as she continued praying before the Lord, Eli noticed her mouth.

Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk.

Eli said to her, How long will you be intoxicated? Put wine away from you.

But Hannah answered, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I was pouring out my soul before the Lord.

Regard not your handmaid as a wicked woman; for out of my great complaint and bitter provocation I have been speaking.

Then Eli said, Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.

Also The Next Chapter shows Gods Judgement and Mercy. Mercy toward Hannah. judgement toward Eli's sons. AND The then ministry of Samuel, a foreshadowing of Christ.

1 Samuel 2:1-10 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 Then Hannah prayed:

“My heart rejoices in the Lord!
    The Lord has made me strong.[a]
Now I have an answer for my enemies;
    I rejoice because you rescued me.

2 No one is holy like the Lord!
    There is no one besides you;
    there is no Rock like our God.

3 “Stop acting so proud and haughty!
    Don’t speak with such arrogance!
For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done;
    he will judge your actions.

4 The bow of the mighty is now broken,
    and those who stumbled are now strong.

5 Those who were well fed are now starving,
    and those who were starving are now full.
The childless woman now has seven children,
    and the woman with many children wastes away.

6 The Lord gives both death and life;
    he brings some down to the grave[b] but raises others up.

7 The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
    he brings some down and lifts others up.

8 He lifts the poor from the dust
    and the needy from the garbage dump.
He sets them among princes,
    placing them in seats of honor.
For all the earth is the Lord’s,
    and he has set the world in order.

9 “He will protect his faithful ones,
    but the wicked will disappear in darkness.
No one will succeed by strength alone.

10     Those who fight against the Lord will be shattered.
He thunders against them from heaven;
    the Lord judges throughout the earth.
He gives power to his king;
    he increases the strength[c] of his anointed one.”

Footnotes:

Then in The New Testament:

ACTS 2:13-21

And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean?

But others made a joke of it and derisively said, They are simply drunk and full of sweet [intoxicating] wine.

But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: You Jews and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be [explained] to you so that you will know and understand; listen closely to what I have to say.

For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is [only] the third hour (about 9:00 a.m.) of the day;

But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions (divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams.

Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels and predicting future events pertaining especially to God's kingdom].

And I will show wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor;

The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the obvious day of the Lord comes--that great and notable and conspicuous and renowned [day].

And it shall be that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord [invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord--Christ] shall be saved.

Stay Strong In The Lord!!!

Psalm 29:11
Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

Ephesians 6:10
Amplified Bible (AMP)

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

 I want to encourage all that would read this today, to rely solely on the strength of The Lord.

Many times in history and in The Word, times of great revival, great blessings were coupled with times of great distress and judgement.

 Isaiah 21:12-The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; Return! Come back!”

I sense a fire coming, yes the Good Fire of The Spirit, but also a fire of destruction, a fire of judgement, a fire of purifying and cleansing.

I saw in a vision/dream the aftermath of a fire, the soot that it left. The fire did not harm me or my home, however the soot was present.

Stay close to The Lord in the days to come. Sow His Word into your heart. Read His Word. Read books from Authors with Faith and The WORD deeply rooted in their writings. Listen to faith filled sermons that teach on The Word, The Spirit and the very REAL POWER that is available to those that are saved by The Grace of God!  IN JESUS NAME!

Psalm 9:10
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Psalm 18:29-31

For by You I can run against a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;

He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God
