Seek The Lord! Day 2

There are times in history when men and women were called upon to seek The Lord with all their hearts.

These times and seasons were for various reasons, however, all had one thing in common, they were to seek Him during the season that He had called them to seek him.

Obedience was key, and disobedience was tragic.

The scriptures below were highlighted to me as I sought The Lord tonight. My intention over the next 40 days is to just introduce the scripture and then allow The Holy Spirit to speak to the reader what He is saying.

I will say this: We are in a very important season right now. This may be THE SEASON, one of the last seasons that we are called as a people to seek God like never before. To prepare our hearts, to cry out for mercy, to call forth His Mighty Plan on Earth!

Let these Scriptures speak to you.

Isaiah 51:1-2
New Living Translation (NLT)

A Call to Trust the Lord

“Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance—
all who seek the Lord!

Consider the rock from which you were cut,
the quarry from which you were mined.

Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor,
and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation.
Abraham was only one man when I called him.
But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.”

Hosea 10:12
New Living Translation (NLT)

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness,
and you will harvest a crop of love.

Plow up the hard ground of your hearts,
for now is the time to seek the Lord,
that he may come
and shower righteousness upon you.’

Jeremiah 4:1-4
New Living Translation (NLT)

“O Israel,” says the Lord,
“if you wanted to return to me, you could.
You could throw away your detestable idols
and stray away no more.

Then when you swear by my name, saying,
‘As surely as the Lord lives,’
you could do so
with truth, justice, and righteousness.

Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world,
and all people would come and praise my name.”

This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:

“Plow up the hard ground of your hearts!
Do not waste your good seed among thorns.

O people of Judah and Jerusalem,
surrender your pride and power.
Change your hearts before the Lord,
Or my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire

because of all your sins.

Isaiah 55:1-6
New Living Translation (NLT)

 “Is anyone thirsty?
Come and drink—
even if you have no money!
Come, take your choice of wine or milk—
it’s all free!

Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength?
Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the finest food.

“Come to me with your ears wide open.
Listen, and you will find life.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you.
I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.

See how I used him to display my power among the peoples.
I made him a leader among the nations.

You also will command nations you do not know,
and peoples unknown to you will come running to obey,
because I, the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.”

Seek the Lord while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near.

Psalm 69:32-36
New Living Translation (NLT)

The humble will see their God at work and be glad.
Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.

For the Lord hears the cries of the needy;
he does not despise his imprisoned people.

Praise him, O heaven and earth,
the seas and all that move in them.

For God will save Jerusalem
and rebuild the towns of Judah.
His people will live there
and settle in their own land.

The descendants of those who obey him will inherit the land,
and those who love him will live there in safety.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16
New Living Translation (NLT)

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy—a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.
