Kneeling Warriors Who LOVE The Church! Day 13

 I am posted today to plead with whoever reads this, to take up the mantle and the mission of intercessory prayer for The Body of Christ.

Stir up in yourself a love for The Church. Not a passive, weak, soft love, but a love that is willing to go on the offensive for The Church, that is willing to defend her even unto death. (Death of self in prayer, for the purposes of this post)

Allow The Holy Spirit to move you with such compassion that you begin to intercede intensely for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Lift up the leaders of churches all across the world, in all the nations.

Even those more visible, media type preachers that you do not agree with, lift them up in prayer, pray that they would hear the voice of The Lord. You may not agree with them,  pray for them not against them for the sake of the people. Let God decide who to lift up and bring down. When we as people of prayer try and do it for Him, we are tying His hands, He will not move on our prayers.

Pray for the Christians in hostile nations. Pray that a great outpouring of intercession and power would be released on their behalf.

I am reposting the articles below, in hopes that they will stir you to prayer. After today, I will be reposting a few posts that I sense need to be read by somebody out there, or several people, that The Lord wants to speak to.

Call Them In to Send Them Out!!!

They will come from Many Nations.
With a Common Vision.
On a Holy Mission.
To fulfill with Burning Passion.
The LORDS Great Commission.

Prayer-A Life of Prayer

Below I have posted a couple of past post, mixed in with some nuggets of wisdom I have gained on this long, and sometimes odd, journey of Prayer that The Lord has had me on since I was a small child.

I pray they bless you and help you enter deeper into the place where your prayers become more effective in the lives of others and The Church.

"Intercession involves more than just prayer. Learn about your subject, study it, become well familiar with it. If you don't care enough to learn deeply about your subject, how can you enter in with compassion and empathy?"  Randy Furco

The Ministry Of Prayer

Lets start with our essential scripture verses for The Ministry of Prayer to, and for ,The Body of Christ Locally and Globally!!

Romans 8:26-28
Amplified Bible (AMP)

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groaning too deep for utterance.

And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will.

We are assured and know that {God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

I feel led by The Holy Spirit to re-emphasize these verses and plead with whoever He may lead to read this, to take up this Ministry to your Local Church and The Body of Christ Globally.

My heart is assured that we have past a road marker of sorts in The Spirit. More than any other time in the history of The Church, I believe the Ministry of Prayer as explained and revealed in the verse above is needed, is mandatory and is the call of every mature spirit filled Christian.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ need us. Our leaders need us. We are a family. We are an army and we are connected in a very real way both naturally and spiritually.

There are things that the enemy has sent his servants on assignment to accomplish, in order to disrupt Gods plan for His Children and The Church. There are Angels sent from heaven on assignment for God to bring His Plans and Purposes to pass.

In the middle of this battle is us, The Church! The enemy already has mankind in his grip. His focus is to keep them blinded and buffet the Church so we will lose real Faith in The Lord Jesus and His Word!

The outcome of The war is and has been already determined. However the outcome of the battles we are in now, and will be in soon, depends on The Ministry of Prayer! I will state that again.

The outcome of The war is, and has been, already determined. However the outcome of the battles we are in now, and will be in soon, depends on The Ministry of Prayer.

In closing I will say what I said in an earlier post. There is ALWAYS a part we play in receiving Gods promises. The above promise is no different!

"We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose."

We must purposefully take up The Ministry of Prayer for The Local Church and The Body of Christ in The World.

"Anyone who would say a life of intercession is not a life of discipline,dedication and hard work: Does not live a life of intercession." Randy Furco

Prayer/Tongues and The Will of God

We are assured and know that [[a]God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

I don't think there is a better translation that brings out the revelation of these verses than The Amplified Bible. I chose to only post three verses, because the revelation is so deep,so profound that I want to be sure the reader grabs what The Lord is saying.

We have heard the verse over and over that says "All things work together for good....", but is this always true, no matter what? Or, like with any promise of God, is there an essential part we must play?

First, all things don't just magically work together for good. You can choose to do many things, that will quite hinder you, and not work together for your good, can't you? Within yourself, you can't control all circumstances or other people.

What, and most importantly, Who does the scripture reveal, that is essential to "All things working together for good..."

The revelation about the importance of the ministry of The Holy Spirit in a Believers life, in The Church and in the world on behalf of the Believer, is revealed mightily, not only in these verse, but in this entire chapter of Romans.

My friend you can pray from your mind. You can know The Word, you can be as religious as you like. But unless you are actively allowing God, through His Holy Spirit to partner with you in your labor of prayer, you are missing out on the promises of these verses. Not only for yourself, but your family, your church and your community.

I have stated it before, and without reservation I will state it here. If believers all across the planet, all of a sudden stopped praying in tongues, the foundations of the world systems would begin to fail, the foundations of government would begin to collapse. The enemy of God and man would reek havoc on The Church and mankind........

The only ministry, that is able to cause all things to work together for good, is The Ministry of The Holy Spirit partnering with the prayers and intercession of The Church on earth. This is how God causes His Will and Plan to come to pass on earth. This is how His purposes are accomplished.

This is why the verse says "who love God and are called according to HIS Purposes". The Church and an individual believer must be standing in a place of salvation and in a place where they have submitted themselves to Gods purposes. Then in that agreement, The Holy Spirit joins forces to cause Gods Plans and Purposes to be revealed and manifested on earth.

Don't limit what God can do through your effectual fervent, spirit filled prayer. He, right now, is asking you to join forces with him, and pray in the SPIRIT, PRAY IN TONGUES! If you have not been baptised in The SPIRIT with the evidence of speaking in tongues, then just ask The Father, and He will do so.

Allow Him to use you to bring His will to earth. Allow him to use your heart and voice to cause all things to work together for good, not only for you, but set your focus even higher, for The Church in The World!!!!!!

"The Life of an Intercessor can become so attached, so in tune with what The Lord wants to do on the earth through His Church, that their life becomes a living testament, an amazing journey, only fully understood by God and His chosen vessel." Randy Furco

Prayer For The Healing of The Body of Christ!!

The Body of Christ is in need of healing. There comes a time in the life of a believer that the Lord wants them to stand for healing, to stand for what belongs to them.

We can carry the scars and damage of past sin in our physical body. We can walk around with the remnant of brokenness and pain resonating in our body. Often times, we don't even realize how these things are holding us back, damaging our environment and the very people we are called to love.

The Lord loves us, is patient and merciful to us. However, we must, at one point, yield to His healing and delivering work in order to properly fulfill our mission and purpose.

There comes a day that He will lead us into a battle, that the outcome of ,will not only affect our destiny, but the destiny of others. A battle that will be presented to us as a clear choice, to fight, or not. To progress or not. To take ground or yield ground to our enemy.

So it is, with The Body of Christ, in this nation, right now. We have carried within The Lords Body, scars, pain, unforgiving, resentment and hate, for far too long. The LORD will have none of it any longer. The Church is His Body, and He demands that those in His Body yield and allow Him to heal.

He is no longer content with allowing his Body to walk this nation broken, scarred, segregated, full of distrust and hate. He is no longer willing for His Body to be out of balance and unhealthy.

He is leading us into a battle of His Making. Many will have a clear choice, to choose healing or not. To fight or not. Those who choose to stand and be healed will enter into a glorious ministry of reconciliation and deliverance.

Those who choose to hold on to the brokenness, prejudice, pain and resentment will remain unhealed and be subject to the attack of hatred that is coming upon this nation. Trying to battle using natural means that are doomed to fail.

I see in The Spirit a new labor of prayer. A battle in prayer to drive out of The Body of Christ all that offends. So that she can be free and able to move unhindered. Yes, drive out prejudice and racism. Yes drive out materialism. Yes drive out the foul political Spirit that has gripped her. Yes drive out dead religion, doubt and unbelief.

Drive out every false doctrine, worthless debate and foolish babbling. So much to drive out, so little time. However what He has determined.....He shall accomplish.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16
Amplified Bible (AMP)

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.

For I have chosen and sanctified (set apart for holy use) this house, that My Name may be here forever, and My eyes and My heart will be here perpetually.

"It can be hard at times for the intercessor to see another standing on the stage or platform that he or she spent years laboring over in prayer. To see the fruit of their prayers in so many other lives, yet still have to struggle with issues in their own.

Jealousy and Envy is always knocking at the door. That is okay, do not be condemned. Take it to The Lord, He understands, He will not scold or reject you. He is invested in your life and ministry. Leave it at His alter with joy, naked and not ashamed, and He will be faithful every time to give back to you the joy and peace that comes with seeing the fruit of your laboring with His Holy Spirit" Randy Furco

A Type and Shadow of Speaking In Tongues??
(Some edits of original post)

Notice, in the verses below, that although Hannah was not speaking she was pouring her soul out to God, from a deep place in her heart. So deep that she could not express it with words, only the utterance of her soul could express it.

She was praying very much like the rivers of living water that flow from our Spirit man, from that deep river that is released when we enter into fervent prayer. We pray in The Spirit out to God, uttering words that we do not know, crying out to The Lord!

Oh I believe with all my heart, that Hannah, if she was filled with The Holy Spirit would have been praying in tongues fervently, crying out to The Lord. I am convinced that this account is SHADOW AND A TYPE of deep,fervent prayer in The SPIRIT.

The kind of prayer that avails much and changes the course of lives,cities and nations!!

1 Samuel 1:12-17
Amplified Bible (AMP)

And as she continued praying before the Lord, Eli noticed her mouth.

Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk.

Eli said to her, How long will you be intoxicated? Put wine away from you.

But Hannah answered, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I was pouring out my soul before the Lord.

Regard not your handmaid as a wicked woman; for out of my great complaint and bitter provocation I have been speaking.

Then Eli said, Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.

The Next Chapter shows Gods Judgement and Mercy. Mercy toward Hannah. judgement toward Eli's sons. AND The the ministry of Samuel, a foreshadowing of Christ. Below Hannah's Prayer is prayed out, and the result of her prayers are Nation Changing. She prayed for a child and that Child was Part of Gods plan on Earth. A living testament to the life of an intercessor!

1 Samuel 2
New Living Translation (NLT)

Hannah’s Prayer of Praise

Then Hannah prayed:

“My heart rejoices in the Lord!
The Lord has made me strong.[a]
How I have an answer for my enemies;

I rejoice because you rescued me.

No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God.

“Stop acting so proud and haughty!
Don’t speak with such arrogance!
For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done;
he will judge your actions.

The bow of the mighty is now broken,
and those who stumbled are now strong.

Those who were well fed are now starving,
and those who were starving are now full.

The childless woman now has seven children,
and the woman with many children wastes away.

The Lord gives both death and life;
he brings some down to the grave[b] but raises others up.

The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
he brings some down and lifts others up.

He lifts the poor from the dust
and the needy from the garbage dump.

He sets them among princes,
lacing them in seats of honor.

For all the earth is the Lord’s,
and he has set the world in order.

“He will protect his faithful ones,
but the wicked will disappear in darkness.

No one will succeed by strength alone.

Those who fight against the Lord will be shattered.
He thunders against them from heaven;
the Lord judges throughout the earth.

He gives power to his king;
he increases the strength of his anointed one.”

Then in The New Testament:

ACTS 2:13-21
AMP

And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean?

But others made a joke of it and derisively said, They are simply drunk and full of sweet [intoxicating] wine.

But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: You Jews and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be [explained] to you so that you will know and understand; listen closely to what I have to say.

For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is [only] the third hour (about 9:00 a.m.) of the day;

But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions (divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [divinely suggested] dreams.

Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy [telling forth the divine counsels and predicting future events pertaining especially to God's kingdom].

And I will show wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor;

The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the obvious day of the Lord comes--that great and notable and conspicuous and renowned [day].

And it shall be that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord {invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord--Christ] shall be saved.

He Loves You Day 12

In prayer today, The Lord reminded me why He had me take this journey. It wasn’t to try and come up with a new blog post every day. It wasn't to try and do a works type 40 day journey of prayer.

He wanted me to take time to seek Him. He wanted me to take time to seek His Voice, His Will, and most importantly, His Love.

The Lord loves us so dearly. He is intimately concerned and interested in the health of your heart. So many times we get so involved in what we are doing, that we forget, He really does love us with a love that is unexplainable in human terms.

He hovers over us with care and warmth. He has been hovering over us before we were formed in our mother’s womb. Get a picture of The Lord looking over you, with His Ears open and attentive to your voice, His Eyes gazing upon you with great love and power.

I know it is hard to picture this when many of us have been through some difficult times in life. Circumstances can cause us to forget how loving our Father in Heaven truly is.

At times I question The Lord about this truth. When I hear Him whisper "I am with you", there are times that I look up and say "that doesn’t really help right now, I am glad you are with me, but you could fix this to".

I am so glad that He understands every part of us. That He sees everything, every thought, every whisper of the heart. He hears the stirring of our souls and the sighs of our infirmities. We stand before him completely naked, nothing hidden, yet we do not need to be ashamed for even a moment, if we have confessed our sins and laid them at His Throne of Grace.

It should be a comfort to every Christian, whether you are a seasoned saint, with a level of victory and freedom over the flesh, or a New Christian, fighting the good fight, and still struggling to overcome, more and more, that Our Lord sees all and He still hovers lovingly over us.

Let Him reveal to you today His Great Love.

Even with some of the things surely to come to pass on Earth, remember He Loves YOU. If you have been born again, YOU are not destine for wrath, like the children of wrath.You are destine to spend eternity learning of, and experiencing His Great Love and Mystery.

Romans 8:31-39

New King James Version (NKJV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Go Into All The World!! Day 11

Go into all The World. These words were a command given only to The Church. Phillip and Peter were drawn to my attention today.

Two very important things that I believe God wants to refresh in our hearts today.

1. The Lord will supply all our need as we Go, as commanded, and Preach The Gospel, including performing any and all signs and wonders,providing all the power we need to fulfill our mission.

2. Only a believer can Preach The Gospel.

The spreading of The Gospel and The Making of Disciples is the two-fold commission of The Church. They can and should be done and followed through by The Ministry Gifts in The LOCAL Church.

This is what I want you to imagine as you read the following scriptures. A Church with the Evangelistic Anointing of Reinhardt Bonnke or Billy Graham, and The  Wisdom of Jesus, our Great Teacher, To Grow Disciples.

Whether the need is to convert 5000 in a day or The ONE traveler,seeker that God wants to reach. There is an abundance of Grace,Power and Ability as The Lord Himself works with us.

We can and will be able to Disciple and raise up strong believers, as well as we have been able to mass evangelize millions of people.

Mark 16:15-20

New King James Version (NKJV)
 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Christ Ascends to God’s Right Hand

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

Matthew 16:13-19

New King James Version (NKJV)

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Acts 2:14-42

New King James Version (NKJV)

Peter’s Sermon

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is onlythe third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’[a]
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken[b] by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 25 For David says concerning Him:
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’[c]
29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
35 Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”’
36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

A Vital Church Grows

40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts 10:30-48

New King James Version (NKJV)
30 So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour[a] I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. When he comes, he will speak to you.’ 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.”

Preaching to Cornelius’ Household

34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.

35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all

37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. 43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 4And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

I encourage you to take time with this next chapter. Meditate on the scripture with "The End in Mind".  With "Gods Mission Statement" in mind.

With The Last Days in mind!!!

The Latter Rain will be GREATER than the Former Rain

Acts 8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Now Saul was consenting to his death.
At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.

Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city.

But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” 11 And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. 12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

20 But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! 21 You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.23 For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

24 Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

25 So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”

30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this:
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth.”
34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?”

37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”

And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he me to Caesarea.
